Common Mistakes to Avoid

Using your master password for anything else. Your vault master password must be unique. If you use it for any other account and that account is breached, your entire vault is compromised.

Not backing up your vault file. A lost or corrupted .kdbx file with no backup means losing access to every password in your vault simultaneously. Keep at least two backups in separate locations.

Setting a weak master password because “it’s just on my phone.” The vault file can be extracted from backups, transferred during device migrations, or copied from cloud sync folders. It must be strong enough to resist offline brute-force attacks regardless of where it ends up.
